Myo-inositol is a carbocyclic polyol that can be found in different types of food, in particular in cereals, nuts and fruit, especially melons and oranges. Inositoles, which Myo-inositol is a part of, play a biological role as second cellular messengers, i.e. molecules that can determine cellular response to stimuli from the external membrane that arrive through other substances, such as insulin.
Alpha-Lipoic Acid (Thioctic Acid) is an important enzyme cofactor in the Krebs cycle and is involved in all dehydrogenases in the human body. Alpha-Lipoic Acid is active both in the aqueous (cytoplasm) and lipid phase (membrane) of cells. Thanks to these properties, it has normalising functions at the level of various metabolic and cell reactions.
Monascus purpureus is a special yeast that is used during the fermentation of red rice; during this process, Monascus purpureus is enriched with given substances known as monacolins. Monacolin K contributes to normal cholesterol levels in the blood*.
*The beneficial effect is obtained by taking every day 10 mg of monacolin K from preparations of fermented red rice.
Folic acid is a water-soluble B vitamin. It contributes to normal amino acid synthesis, to the normal metabolism of homocysteine, it supports the psychological function and the immune system and also reduces tiredness and fatigue.
Vitamin D favours normal absorption and use of calcium and phosphorus, good bone health and normal muscle performance and intervenes in the cell division process.
